Mohbad’s Controversy
In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested MohBad, Zinoleesky and four others at their home in Lekki, Lagos. It was found with illegal drugs, including MDMA and marijuana.
Videos emerged on social media showing NDLEA operatives entering the singer’s home in Lekki, Lagos State on Thursday morning. Witnesses said officers arrested them without a search warrant and tortured the Marlian singers.
The NDLEA officers handcuffed the musicians and fired guns into the air, forcing them into waiting trucks. The NDLEA confirmed the operation and said: “Our men raided an area in Idado country where Naira Marley’s friends live”. The NDLEA spokesperson said drugs and MDMA were found in their homes and cars. MohBad, Zinoleesky and four others were released.
