Purple Speedy (born Peace Pever Anpee) was raised in the middle belt of Nigeria’s Benue State and was largely unaware of life outside of the relative luxuries of her middle-class upbringing.

“So, even though I liked dancing, I completely quit doing it. There was a dancing class at my school when I learned about TikTok and noticed the trends.

It was five o’clock in the dance class. I would change and head to dancing class after my lectures. I then started following TikTok trends after that. That’s how I became aware of TikTok. I began creating stuff in 2020, although it began in 2019.

Purple Speedy’s infectious personality and talent made her dance videos, synchronizations, duets, and sing-alongs so popular that by the end of 2020, she had successfully carved out a niche for herself.

Since then, she has only grown in size and notoriety, gaining over 6.5 million followers and receiving over 110 million likes on her platform videos.
